A nightmare flyer who was filmed screaming in the face of a horrified air-stewardess and slapping a fellow passenger is a mum-of-one who was on her way to Turkey for dental treatment.
Catherine Bush was chucked off the flight from Manchester Airport to Antalya, in Turkey after she “displayed a catalogue of aggressive, abusive and dangerous behaviour”.
The horrifying conduct included “physical aggression towards other customers and our crew,” carrier Jet2 say.
The airline banned the abusive flyer for life and also fined her £5,000.
Now, a friend of Bush has claimed that she had been on her way to get teeth whitening treatment for £3,000.
The friend told MailOnline: “I was with Catherine in the pub at the weekend. She told me she was excited about going to Turkey.
“She said that she had scraped together £3,000 from her savings for cosmetic surgery on her teeth.
“She was going to have them whitened.”
Footage of the angry woman, thought to be from Kirklees in West Yorkshire, went viral as the appalling incident was filmed by shocked passengers on Monday morning.
Bush was recorded screaming and marching up and down a flight which had to be diverted to Vienna just over two hours after leaving the UK.
In the video, the woman is seen screaming in the face of a uniformed staff member at the front of the plane.
As other flight staff gather around her to aid their colleague, it looks as though she lashes out with her hands against someone seated in the first row.
A member of staff can be seen telling her to ‘stand back’, to which she replies: “I am back. Sort your head out you.”
The airline worker says: “You are not doing yourself any favours.”
She replies: “You’re not doing yourself any favours either.
“So what have I done? Don’t touch me, don’t ****ing touch me.”
She adds: “What have I done? What have I done wrong on this flight, eh? See, you haven’t got an answer.”
